World Description

Give a high level description of your world. Here are some questions to get you started:

Three Core Facts

Challenge yourself to pick three things your player needs to understand about your world to be able to grasp the most fun components of your world. Usually they should be related to the following topics:

Magic System (if applicable) or Supernatural Elements

If you have magic, how does this work? Specifically: what can it do, what can it NOT do (what are its limits), are there consequences to using magic, how is magic seen by society (is it celebrated? is it stigmatized? Is it normalized? do other people know magic exists?)

World Conflict

What is the problem that threatens the world? For example, in Star Wars you might describe the Empire that keeps the MC (Luke Skywalker) from achieving his true purpose. This can be a threatening faction, an external danger (like magic is dying in the world), or something else!

Key Structures & Communities

What are the key things that will play a role in your world? For example, if you were writing a Star Wars game, you might describe here: Jedi Council, The Force, The Empire.

Key Figures

Are there any key people in your game that will be mentioned by name but aren’t necessarily part of the main cast? This might include people from the world’s history, world leaders, or important references for the MC.
